Evidence of Enrolment

What is Evidence of Enrolment?

If you need to provide evidence that you are enrolled at the University, you can:

  • Download a free Statement of Enrolment via my.unimelb (unavailable for graduate research courses). The Statement of Enrolment lists all subjects you are enrolled in at the University of Melbourne.
  • Order an Evidence of Enrolment Letter via eCommerce. The Evidence of Enrolment shows the courses you are/have been enrolled in at the University of Melbourne.

For information on how to generate these forms and more, visit the academic statements page. Examples are also provided.

It is important to find out what documentation is required with the organisation (e.g. embassy, tertiary institution, registration body) that has requested evidence of your enrolment.

Information for coursework students

An Evidence of Enrolment letter outlines all the courses you are currently or were previously enrolled in at the University of Melbourne.

The letter includes:

  • Your full name
  • Your Student ID number
  • Your date of birth
  • A course commencement date
  • The course/s you are, or were, enrolled in
  • The date/s you were/are enrolled
  • Periods of leave of absence
  • Your expected completion date
  • Your status as a full-time or part-time student
  • A note that the language of instruction is English
  • Signature of an authorised delegate of the Academic Registrar

Available in hard copy and digital format, the Evidence of Enrolment Letter can be ordered via eCommerce. The letter can also be customised with additional text to suit your needs.

Please note that digital copies are only available for students who graduated in or after 2018. Digital copies are certified and accessed via My eQuals

What's the difference between a Statement of Enrolment and Evidence of Enrolment?

Unlike the Evidence of Enrolment letter, the Statement of Enrolment does not include:

  • Date of birth
  • Periods of leave of absence
  • A course commencement date
  • Expected completion date
  • Language of instruction
  • Signature of the Academic Registrar or an authorised delegate

The Statement of Enrolment includes the following information which is not included in Evidence of Enrolment letters:

  • Your address
  • EFTSL (equivalent full-time study load)
  • List of enrolled subjects

Delivery timeframes

The Statement of Enrolment and the Evidence of Enrolment for graduate research students are emailed to your university email immediately after you submit your order.

Evidence of Enrolment letters are ordered through eCommerce. Evidence of Enrolment letters can take around 10 working days to prepare. Current processing times are published on eCommerce.

Delays can occur if:

  • You do not submit the required documentation
  • Your request is for study before 1974, or for an institution now merged with the University.

I studied at the University but did not complete my degree. Can I still order Evidence of Enrolment Letters?

If you were enrolled as a student previously, we can provide a statement of your academic studies at the University. An academic statement may be ordered online via eCommerce.
