What is an Early Exit award?
Early exit awards are an option for graduate students who are unable or choose not to continue with their studies, and allow students to exit their course with a lesser award (such as a Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate). If a student is granted an exit award, they must discontinue from their original course. This means that if you are granted an exit award, you will be withdrawn from your current course. Students who wish to complete their original course later must apply for re-admission through the standard admissions process.
For example:
A Masters student applies for an early exit of a Graduate Diploma; the exit award is granted, and the student exits the University awarded with the Graduate Diploma and Withdrawn from the Masters.
Who can apply for an Early Exit Award?
- Exit awards are not available to undergraduate students.
- Students who are “Admitted” to or “Withdrawn” from a graduate course may apply.
- There is no time limit on applying for an exit award if you have already withdrawn from your course.
