Dual admission
What is dual admission?
Dual admission means to study two award courses at the same time. There are some pre-approved course combinations, however most combinations will require approval from the relevant faculties.
Dual admission is only available to graduate students or for the combination of a bachelor degree and a concurrent diploma. You must meet the entry requirements for each course.
To undertake a concurrent diploma, students must apply through a separate process. Please visit the concurrent diplomas website for information about course options and the application process.
Studying additional single subjects alongside an award course is not considered as dual admission. For information, please refer to the single subject study website.
Please note that dual admission, concurrent diploma courses and single subject study are not available to students studying on a student visa, or student visa applicants.

How do I request dual admission approval?
Please use the Dual Admission Application form.
You will be asked for your preferred (primary) course, which is the course you will remain admitted to if your request is not approved.
You will be required to provide evidence that the faculty for both courses approves your dual admission, so please ensure you have written approval before applying. Please contact Stop1 for details on who to contact for approval.
I'm intending to take a leave of absence from one course to study another course. Do I still need to apply for dual admission approval?
Yes. While you are on a leave of absence you are still considered admitted to your course and need appropriate approval to study another award course. You must still apply for dual admission approval.
Are there any additional requirements I must fulfil if I'm approved for dual admission?
Yes. You must meet the enrolment requirements for each course individually. This means you must be enrolled in at least one subject in each course in each half-year period, or apply for a leave of absence for any half-year period where you do not intend to enrol in subjects.
If you intend to study more than 50 points in any semester (or more than 25 points in the Summer or Winter terms) across both of your courses, you must meet eligibility criteria and apply to overload via the Enrolment Assistance Form.
If I'm not approved for dual admission, will I be withdrawn from the additional course?
If you are not approved for dual admission, you will be withdrawn from your secondary course listed on your dual admission application form. You will receive a notification with the date that your course will be withdrawn. Any subjects you are enrolled in for that course will also be withdrawn.
